Sequoia is an intimate adults only, luxury lodge, nestled in the highlands of the glorious Adelaide Hills in South Australia. Designed as a private sanctuary with many exclusive amenities and bespoke onsite and personalised offsite activities, Sequoia will take you by the hand, sweep you off your feet, and will do everything to make this the trip of your lifetime.
Due to the nature of its exclusive experience offerings, Sequoia Lodge, only accommodates guests over the age of 18 years.
Sequoia guests have exclusive use of the lodge’s lounge which features multiple fireplaces, comfortable sunken lounges, 180° views across the valley, and a panoramic sun deck. Within the lodge grounds, there are artesian spring-fed hot pools, an infinity pool and a wildlife enclosure. A tennis court and several walking trails can be accessed from the adjacent estate grounds.
Dining at Sequoia is an exclusive affair for our lodge guests offering creative, contemporary Australian menus that reflect the changing seasons and draw inspiration from our local suppliers. Guests can enjoy a leisurely breakfast, light lunch and 2 or 3 course dinner in the lodge lounge or in the privacy of your own suite. We also recommend a culinary experience to remember at the 3 chef hat Hardy’s Verandah Restaurant during your stay.
Part of Sequoia’s philosophy is to connect you with the land and its people through a range of intimate and curated onsite experiences that are included in your stay. As part of these daily and seasonally changing experiences listen to ancient dreamtime stories, savour and learn from artisan producers or join a guided tour of the Mount Lofty Botanic Garden. There are endless wonderful memories to be made.
Sequoia’s open-plan suites boast panoramic valley views from the sunken lounge, bedroom, and bathroom. Each suite has a large balcony with an expansive daybed, a gas fireplace, a ceiling fan, a hidden TV, a large bathtub with views over the valley, and a wonderful wellness shower. The suites are fully automated offering different mood and time of day settings. Included in your stay are daily breakfast, the minibar, and nightly turndown service.
While Sequoia Lodge is completely private, it has access to the leafy 30-acre Mount Lofty Estate which is home to the award-winning fine dining restaurant Hardy’s Verandah and Martha Hardy’s Kitchen an a la carte restaurant serving lunch and dinner at Mount Lofty Estate. The Gatekeeper’s Day Spa cottage sits just outside of the historical entrance gate. Mount Lofty Estate is also home to South Australia’s two highest altitude vineyards, ancient underground Mount Lofty springs, and offers access to a multitude of easy walking paths and moderate hiking trails.
Over the past three years, Hardy’s Verandah has made its mark in the Australian fine dining scene, receiving repeat accolades from the Good Food Guide, Gourmet Traveller, Gault Millau, and TripAdvisor to name a few. It now ranks among the TOP 10 restaurants in Australia. The delicate food that is filled with bold flavours comes straight from the heart and is head chef Jin Choi’s way to celebrate the region’s incredibly fresh and flavoursome produce.
Retreating to Gatekeeper’s Cottage is synonym for stepping into another world. One that does not recognise the existence of time and the nuisances of daily life. Gatekeeper’s is a space that comforts and allows you to forget what weighs you down. After a rejuvenating treatment, retire to the cottage garden for some extended time in heaven.
Due to the exceptional location and layout of Sequoia, it is possible to book out the entire lodge to create a completely private experience. Whether it is an executive retreat, a family affair, or a VIP experience you are after, the lodge team is excited to work with and for you to create the event of a lifetime.
